Background Information and Overview

This web site is designed to aid those looking at the scheme for the first time as well as those needing more information whilst on the scheme. Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that the information on this site is factually correct and up to date, please contact the VTS office and/ or West Midlands Deanery for up to the minute information.

Those looking at the scheme for the first time should read all the information on this initial section. Further details of the individual modules are available, as well as the dates. Training jobs are detailed in the“ST Posts” area and with a brief description on each job. ST doctors

This website may be used as overview to refresh their knowledge of the basics of the scheme including study leave arrangements and mentoring arrangements.

Registrars

Registrars (or ST3 grade) should use the “GP Registrar Training” section to assist in some of their training, particularly relating to the VTS including study days, residential and membership examinations.

Trainers

This site has a dedicated "Education Section" with information on trainer workshops and resources for training. For those new to training there is a section which takes you through the process of training a registrar, step by step. This is a constantly evolving resource and contributions are invited from all those interested in training and education.
