General description of job:-
As an SHO in Paediatrics the GPVTS SHO post is fully integrated into General Paediatrics, Neonatal and out in the Community. There will be the opportunity to see emergency situations, attend out-patient clinics with the idea of giving a rounded exposure to the speciality.

How this applies to future role as GP:-
Contact with the department should help with both routine and emergency aspects of the specialty enabling competence in general practice. Coping with sick children and experience of child protection.
