This job needs little introduction. Most doctors have come across A+E before they work in this department. The wealth of diseases and emergencies encountered in this area provides a smorgasbord of learning opportunities. There is excellent senior cover, all of whom are always keen to teach and advise on clinical cases when requested. There are regular clinical reviews and teaching. Doctors can gain experience in minor and major trauma as well as many aspects of medicine.
