Background Information - Testimonials

Testimonial 1 - Dr Margaret Ikpoh

The half day release was also educational in that there were some topics covered within Medicine but relevant to general practice, which may not have been covered by ones’ actual rotation within the VTS.

The arrival of the modular programme involved working and meeting a completely different mix of people from all levels and specialties in medicine. I have just started my Registrar year and know that some of the modules I have covered have provided an important background to my preparation for the MRCGP.

There is also an interesting variety of modules which have provided a greater sense of structure to my educational needs and objectives.

Testimonial 2 - Dr Christian Mallen

The individual modules allowed me to tackle subjects I had previously found difficult, such as ethics and statDOCTORistics. These areas are often not covered in detail at medical school or during postgraduate education, and self-directed learning is often difficult to achieve with these kinds of subjects. As the skills I learnt were generic I could apply many of them to the different situations encountered in every day practice.
